Pedrosa Roars Back: A KTM Test to Remember at Misano

In a thrilling announcement for MotoGP fans, the legendary Dani Pedrosa is set to return to the track, taking a break from the commentary booth to saddle up on KTM’s RC16. The 31-time Grand Prix winner will participate in a private test at Misano from April 8 to 11, right before the official test at Jerez that follows the Spanish Grand Prix.

At 39 years old, Pedrosa might not be the same sprightly rider he once was, but don’t count him out just yet. Speculation around his future with KTM has been rife, especially after he sported no team logos during the Argentine GP weekend–even prompting whispers of a possible split. But all that chatter is about to get squashed as he rejoins KTM’s core squad, alongside contract-holding riders like Pedro Acosta, Brad Binder, Enea Bastianini, and Maverick Viñales.

This comes after his brief hiatus from on-track action following KTM’s financial turbulence, which had left fans contemplating whether the beloved figure would ride again. Fortunately, with Pedrosa’s contract renewed in November, he’s back in the saddle, charging toward a future that remains electric.

While participating in the tests, we’ll see Pedrosa juggling both his roles as a test rider and a television analyst for DAZN, further underlining that, much like his mastery on the bike, his multitasking abilities are top-notch.

However, don’t hold your breath for a wildcard entry just yet. Pedrosa’s last appearance in an official race was last year’s Spanish GP, where he impressed with a third-place finish in the sprint race but unfortunately tumbled out of contention during the main event. With his testing duties resuming, it seems a return to racing isn't on the immediate horizon.

As we gear up for the upcoming tests, one thing is clear: MotoGP would not be the same without its motorcycle maestro. Will Pedrosa’s expertise lead KTM to contender status in 2025? Only time will tell, but for now, fans can celebrate the return of a true legend to the track. Buckle up, because with Pedrosa back, it’s bound to be a wild ride!
